This one is all about the modifications I needed to make to the deck for the new windlass. Serenity’s foredeck is not cored and although the fibreglass layup is quite strong, it still needed a plate on the top (to raise the windlass) as well as a plywood core below. Sounds easy…well that’s what I thought anyway.
Part 4 will follow later this month and will just be the actual fitting of the windlass unit plus a powered and manual test.
