Nick's boat is a Dufour 31, French built.
He bought her because the older French boats have really thick fibreglass hulls, and there's a lot of stuff drifting around the Pacific Northwest, trees and logs mostly. He wanted to be able to sleep at night knowing she'd be fine if they clipped something big in the water.
She also sails incredibly well in light wind, which has been perfect out here because we've barely had any.
