Preparing to Cross The Atlantic (EP6)
Unfinished business - We were late leaving the UK and wanted to make the Atlantic passage before the looming hurricane season. Finally in March 2020, Elixir was provisioned and ready to cross to The Caribbean. The only thing that could stop us would be some kind of worldwide shutdown of national boarders, which happened. The pandemic put plans on hold for a year as the whole world took a pause.
In November 2021 we returned to Elixir and started sailing, travel was difficult, but still possible. Going across boarders was hard, so we moved slower and explored the Canary Islands in more detail. After we'd filled our boots with quiet anchorages and mountain hikes, Elixir headed to Las Palmas for a crew change and a quick pre-Trans Atlantic makeover. Ready for round 2!
