This was the first time we’d sailed Elixir in over two years, after a huge refit, and it was certainly an intense shakedown sail.
Although it was gusty, it was blowing from the land, so the seas were flat. And this was just a taste of the conditions we had ahead of us on the passage to New Zealand.
