Have you ever tried to pronounce a Welsh place name? We certainly did… and let’s just say the locals deserve a medal for their patience!
In this episode of Unanchored Life, we cruise Moonfleet to Pwllheli, in Wales, discover one of the most beautiful beaches we’ve found in the UK, catch the train to Criccieth to explore its spectacular medieval castle, and continue around the breathtaking Llŷn Peninsula to our very first UK anchorage at the idyllic fishing village of Porthdinllaen.
But the real adventure begins when we launch our brand-new Old Town canoe for the very first time. Getting to the beach looked easy… until the Welsh wind had other ideas! It turns out paddling a canoe across an anchorage is a lot more work than we’d imagined.
This journey around Britain continues to surprise us. Every stop reveals another hidden gem, another friendly face, and another reminder that some of the best adventures begin the moment your plans go slightly wrong.
