Despite all the sailing we’ve done in the past year, this is really our first day sailing around the world. Day 1 will be in Guadaloupe, which will mark the furthest East we sail. From now on we’ll be heading West, and the next time we arrive in Guadaloupe we will still be sailing West – which is pretty incredible when you think about it. The only question now is how, which way, and where to next? Click the play button to find out!

PLEASE NOTE: Before a whole bunch of people leave us a comment about putting plastic into the earth, please note that we WILL be back to pick this us. And if we don’t, we will put the location online in several Geocache websites for someone else to find. Don’t worry, we won’t pollute the islands we care about…

ABOUT US: Welcome aboard.Β We are a family of five sailing around the world on our “dream boat,”Β a performance catamaran named “Archer.”Β
Ten years ago, before kids, we sailed a Lagoon 380 named “Honeymoon”Β halfway around the world to Sydney, Australia. Along the way we shared our experiences with family and friends via YouTube, and by happenstance created one of the first sailing channels.Β But more than anything, we realized what an incredible experience that first trip was and that someday we wanted to do it again, only this time with kids.
We want to share with them the importance of taking time to be with family. To show them a world outside of the one they grew up in. We want them to appreciate how lucky we are to experience (and to care for) the natural beauty of this world. But mostly we want to spend time with our kids during these formative years and create lasting memories as a family. That’s why we are sharing our videos weekly – thanks for watching!
OUR BOAT is a Ferrari red Outremer 51 performance cruising catamaran. We chose this boat as it has been specificallyΒ designed for the purpose of bluewater sailing. It was designed andΒ built to withstand the stress of sailingΒ multiple times around the world safely and in comfort. It’s also a speed demon, which is important when you want to cover large distances of water before the weather changes. Lastly, it’s backed by the manufacturer with outstanding customer service and aftermarket support, so we believe she will hold her value well.Β And, she’s nice on the eyes too.
OUR ROUTE has taken us from the Boston/Cape Cod area of the United States down to the Caribbean and then on to the Panama Canal. At the time of posting this we are dealing with a repair in theΒ South Pacific, and inΒ 2020 we hope to be in New Zealand and Southeast Asia.Β By 2021 we will be in the Med and close to completing our circumnavigation.
PLEASE COMMENT!: As a “family channel,” we are required to actively monitor all comments, but we still want to hear from you. Tell us what you think!
