Hi! We're a family of 3, working and cruising full-time. We sold our suburban life in 2020, sailed the US East Coast from Texas, and just wrapped up in the Bahamas. What is the Thorny Path? The Thorny Path is a route through the Bahamas near Turks and Caicos, then to the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. It’s a challenging route because of the trade winds, east-to-west currents, and lack of resources in the out islands of the Bahamas. Most sailors choose to motor this path for a few days, but we’re trying to sail the thorny path in the middle of winter. Will this choice be a mistake?
