Sailing Vlog 28, Uninstalling the Next-Gen 3.5kw Generator ⛵ The Foster Journey

Welcome back to another exciting episode of our sailing adventure, and today’s video is filled with surprises, so don’t miss it! If you’re new here, we have four types of videos: episodes, vlogs, shorts, and live streams. Today is mess day in Nancy’s boat—big time!

We’ve sold the generator; GU is coming to get it. It’s a rainy day, which is perfect because my job today is to get that wire out of the boat.

Selling Our 3.5kw Diesel Generator

After years of loyal service, we’ve decided to sell our big diesel generator that’s a whopping 3.5 kilowatts. Thanks to solar and other upgrades we’ve made over time, we simply don’t need it anymore.

Uninstalling the Generator

Don’t be fooled though—this is no easy task! The process requires careful removal of engine mounts, sound box wiring, and other accessories.

But wait, there’s more. The generator has quite the history with us!

Please give it a thumbs up and hit subscribe so we don’t miss out on these exciting moments. It helps our channel grow, thank you!

Generator’s Accomplishments

In the past, this trusty generator has powered everything from AC on anchor to desalinating gallons of water in the Bahamas and here in Chesapeake Bay. It even charged our batteries when we needed it most.

The New Owner and Possibilities

Now that the generator is up for sale, we’re happy to find a new home for it. It will be going to a nice guy from the East Coast who plans on putting it on his sports fisher.

The thought of a portable propane-based generator may even be in our future, so stay tuned!

Conclusion

Thank you so much for watching this video and being part of our journey. If you’ve learned something new or simply enjoyed watching us remove the generator, please give us a thumbs up.

And if you haven’t hit that subscribe button yet, what are you waiting for? It’s high time we navigated this adventure together! Don’t miss out on any of our boat projects and stories. We can’t wait to see you in the next video!

Till then, fair winds and calm seas.

The Next-Gen 3500 watt diesel generator has been great to us. Insulated sound box, plenty of power, built-in ease, and of course the maintenance of another engine aboard our sailboat. But we need more storage space and have sold the generator! Thanks for tuning in this week!
