We were slammed by strong winds, the anchor dragged, and now we’ve landing in the shallows less than 100ft from rocks. By the time we turned the instruments on the wind was registering 35 knots. The forecast was only upper 20s, and we anchored in this harbor for protection. My guess is the inlet created a funnel effect and the wind magnified right down the channel onto us – caught the bow of our sailboat, with 1-2 ft chop, anchor popped loose.
