*About Us*
We are Becka and Zach, a couple who, in 2020, dreamt of sailing off into the big blue. Trouble is- we were in a pandemic, had a university degree to finish, on a student budget, only had ever sailed dingies, oh and didn't have a boat. The dream seemed not only unrealistic but pretty insane.

However, we worked hard, finished our degrees, worked as many hours as physically possible, saved with all our might, got experience and in March 2022 bought our very own sailboat, Teulu. Having little sailing experience and being a young couple, we have encountered a tonne of hurdles and made plenty of mistakes! but for every downfall, there has always been a reason to dust ourselves off and carry on.

We hope you can join us as we sail around the world and keep #bloodydoingit

Welcome to the latest extended episode of Boat Life, where the Teulu Tribe is about to face the unexpected while continuing their sailing adventures.

The Journey From Panama

After three months in Panama, overstaying their visas and facing various challenges including engine issues, the Teulu Tribe is now ready to head to Costa Rica. This trip involves a 55-nautical-mile sail from Bocas del Toro to Bahía Piñas in Panama, and then another 80 miles to Isla Parita before finally crossing the border into Costa Rica.

An Unexpected Boarding

One of the most surprising moments during their journey happened while they were navigating out of the Bahía Piñas anchorage and heading towards Isla Parita. As Teulu Tribe was cruising along, a naval vessel approached them. To everyone’s surprise, four officers from the Panamanian navy boarded the boat to check on them.

Navigating Challenges

The Teulu Tribe encountered several navigational hazards along this stretch of their journey, including breakers on one side and rocks on the other. This added to the excitement but also required them to be extra cautious while sailing. Additionally, they experienced a few lightning storms that added another layer of challenge to their journey.

The Arrival in Costa Rica

Upon arriving in Costa Rica after an arduous journey, the Teulu Tribe was overjoyed. They noted that there were more signs of civilization, such as buoys and lights marking channels, which was a nice change from Panama. Despite the challenges faced during their trip, they were glad to finally set foot in Costa Rica.

Reflecting on the Adventure

This extended episode is a testament to how unpredictable life on a boat can be, but also how exciting and fulfilling it can be. Teulu Tribe never ceases to amaze viewers with their willingness to face whatever comes their way, be it unexpected boardings or navigational hazards. They embody the true spirit of adventure, and this journey will undoubtedly go down as one of their most memorable yet.

Next Stop: Playa Venado

After a much-needed rest in Costa Rica, the Teulu Tribe is eager to continue their journey towards Playa Venado. The next episode promises more exciting moments and adventures as they navigate through unknown waters. Will they face any new challenges? Stay tuned to find out!
