Lots of lessons learned in this episode as we set sail from Ensenada, Mexico, aiming for a 290-mile passage to Bahia Tortugas when everything goes sideways fast. Our first night offshore brings rough weather and a stressful emergency decision to cut the dinghy off the davits. To top it off, our jib furler stops working just when we need it most.
Little did we know, this was only the beginning of a five-month ordeal caused by work done during our standing rigging replacement. This is our most intense passage yet and it’s all part of learning to sail down the Pacific coast of the Baja. On the bright side, our pup Pinot finally had some breakthrough moments on this passage!
👋 Don’t forget to like, subscribe, and follow our sailing adventures as we learn and grow as newbie sailors and explore the Pacific and the Sea of Cortez. Thanks for watching and sailing with us.
