We wake at 2 am in Burnett Heads to pull up anchor and head out into the early morning darkness. We are heading to Lady Musgrave Island, the second southernmost reef island in the Great Barrier Reef island chain, this place has been eluding us for years and we are determined not to miss it this time round. We end up beating into the wind for 11 hours until we finally see the low lying island, we are nervous to enter through the very narrow entrance but we make it into the lagoon. We dodge coral bombies finding ourselves a nice patch of sand to drop anchor. WOW what a place. After looking in the binoculars we spot Myles, our good old friend floating away in his dinghy so Slim goes rescues him. To finish off our day we watch the sun go down over the sea on the beautiful remote island, we are honestly so stoked to be here. The following day we wake in paradise to go diving, exploring the coral, spotting turtles and beautiful fishies. WHAT A PLACE.
