Boat Projects and Haul Out in Malta ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡น

In this episode, Sam spends a few days sailing around the beautiful bays of Malta. After checking out various locations, including St Paul’s Bay, Vittoriosa near Manoel Island, and a great anchorage he found near the shore, he awaits communication from the boat yard to plan his haul out.

Nav Light Upgrade

One of Sam’s projects during this time is upgrading the handles on top of his dodger. This upgrade provides a better grip for when the weather gets crazy.

Windlass Motor Repair

Another project is working on the windlass motor, which has been not working for years. Sam notices that some saltwater may have gotten inside it but is hopeful it might still be fixable with a little effort and some help from his friends at the boat yard.

Sam makes sure to take care of his health by getting various vaccines before traveling to Africa. Hepatitis A, yellow fever, meningitis, and typhoid are just a few on the list.

He and the crew make sure to securely strap the boat down and give it a good pressure wash before starting any projects.
