Heya, we’re Cozzy and Mitcho. Thanks for joining us on our FUN but sometimes disastrous Sailing Ocean Life, we think we’re jinxed but really, we’re still learning.
After the nasty strong winds and crashing waves we experienced on our journey from Dixon Island, Dampier to Broome, we never thought we’d make it alive, let alone arrive at a calm and peaceful anchorage in Broome. But check it out!
We arrived at Cable Beach at 8am and couldn’t drop our anchor quickly enough. We were exhausted from the interrupted sleep doing 3 hourly watch shifts through the night so figured a couple of hours of rest and relaxation was in order. But the anchorage around the corner is closer to the town jetty which will be handy to touch base with Jade and provision etc. so we did a little early afternoon motor sail and anchored at Inner Anchorage.
We were looking forward to a night out with a friend, however, that ended up, so we headed to shore in the tender early evening. We knew the tides were huge in Broome, but we hadn’t quite got out heads around how to tackle them. The outcome was obvious!
Meanwhile, by the time we were due to drive away on the tender, the wind had picked up to the strong easterlies we expected, so, the next day we quickly repositioned ourselves at Cable Beach for the rest of our stay in Broome before we continue our sail north.
Thanks so much for joining us on this crazy ride, it’s way more fun having you on board!
