STUCK waiting to sail while the wind dies down
Heya, we’re Cozzy and Mitcho. Thanks for joining us on our Sailing Ocean Life, this week it’s sailing land life as we take shelter from hectic winds.
We’ve been back on Ocean Lady, since Cozzy’s tussle with cancer for about six weeks now, and in that time, we’ve had some hefty lessons thrown our way - the learning curve has been steep!
Sailing has been responsible for reinforcing our resiliency, strengthening our perseverance, and enhancing our ingenuity. But in this week’s lesson, we learned about Patience.
Yup, so that’s where we are this week, STUCK not able to sail, hiding from gnarly winds! But we’re grateful to be stuck in a peaceful part of the Dampier Archipelagos, Dixon Island. We tried to sail away, hoping to leapfrog along the coast but with five days of strong 30-knot easterlies hitting us directly on the nose, we had no choice but to turn around and retreat to our safe haven to wait for the winds to settle down.
Once we wrapped our heads around the fact that we weren’t going anywhere for 4-5 days, we had a lovely time, and we were more than ready to continue our march north to Darwin. Thanks for joining us, we’re very excited to be taking you with us so thanks for coming aboard, it’s much more special with YOU here.
