Heya, we’re Cozzy and Mitcho. Thanks for joining us on our Sailing Ocean Life and welcome aboard our land life… for now.
Yup, we’re back at “home” in Perth for a while and we’re not sure we like it anymore… I mean we’ve lived this life for many years and it’s ok, but we’ve got Ocean Lady and the live aboard lifestyle in our blood now, so we were interested to see what land life brings. I mean of course we love seeing our loved ones, but we’ve had our Ocean Lady return date fixed firmly in our sights, and we can't wait to get back on board!
What’s that saying, sometimes the best laid plans go to waste… Whilst undertaking a full medical, a large, suspicious looking lump was found in my (Cozzy's) liver. At first, I thought it was tiny (7mm), so I didn’t take it all that seriously until at a follow up appointment with my GP, I could tell it wasn't good news from the panicked look in her eyes (which was all I could see due to a face mask) she informed me the lump was actually 5 x 5.3 x 5.7cm which is quite large and scary, and to make matters worse, it has all the characteristics of cancer!!!
After that nasty news, the festive season went by in a blur, we had some amazing moments with some special people in Perth and down south, and we somehow managed to make plans to return to Ocean Lady around hospital appointments for me. We decided that Mitcho would drive his vehicle back to Exmouth to prep the boat ready for when his sister, David, Lou & crew come aboard for a week, and I would fly to Exmouth after my hospital appointment on Monday, so Tuesday at 7am I boarded a plane straight to a disgustingly dirty boat in Exmouth. We had 8 hours to get ready for Lou & crew to arrive, so we go stuck straight into it.
We feel so fortunate to get together with David, Lou & crew, it has been 12 months in the planning, involving numerous text messages and Mitcho constantly checking the wind and weather. We literally flew from all over the country to get together, so we wanted to make it work! And we DID, woohoo here we are @ Serrurier Island!
Thanks for joining us on this adventure, we love having you on board, it makes it so much more special!
