When SAILING LIFE Becomes A SLEEP DEPRIVED LIFE Due To HIGH WIND WARNINGS – Ep. 35
In this episode of Sailing Zephyr we are met with the decision of what to do with Zephyr as another storm is set to hit the island of Mallorca. We had been riding out storm after storm with not much rest and to see a MEDICANE (Mediterranean Hurricane) appear on our weather applications sent a shiver through our spines. A spot became available in the Public Marina and we decided to take it! However, who knew what was in store for us EVEN at the marina. With gusts well over 50 knots and the high winds hitting the marina sideways it was some of the scariest nights we have had on our boat. Two boats down from us gets struck by lightning and both their stern lines snap in the storm at 2am in the morning! It is absolute chaos. High winds continue for 2 days straight with no rest for the wicked. Eventually, it calms down enough for us to get off the boat and to have visitors aboard. James gets back to work on sorting and re fitting a new alternator and I get ready to leave Palma de Mallorca and fly to Cyprus. How could I forget…..HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL OUR AMERICAN FRIENDS! May it be a wonderful one for all!!
