After enjoying nearly a month in Fiji, we made a tough decision to skip New Zealand and head west, straight to Australia, to sell our boat. Although we’d had big plans for NZ we were concerned about the difficult seas on the passage from Fiji to NZ; and we were also told that the market for boat sales is larger in Oz than in NZ.

I broke this sail down into two episodes since it was pretty lengthy. In today’s episode [Part 1], we prepare for and set off on our very last passage in this monohull: 1500nm (10 days) from Fiji to Australia.
