Spring refit and boat work on Leros island, Greece - New solar, bilge alarm and fridge (Ep 12)
We fly back to Leros island in Greece where we left Wishful Thinking for the European winter on the hard at Moor and Dock Boatyard. We get straight into boat work to prepare to launch her for our second sailing season. Below the waterline we remove rust on the keel, replace some thru hulls, fibreglass over some others and antifoul paint. We also service our engine, reseal our chain plates, upgrade our solar system, install a bilge alarm, wire in a new fridge/freezer and remove an old macerator… We agree to cat-sit Chicho, our friends’ cat, and he keeps us company while we get our jobs done.

Sailing Wishful Thinking
We are Emily and Ryan, a couple from Tasmania, Australia, who are pursuing our dream of exploring the world by sailboat. We have recently bought a 1988 Moody 425 in Greece, named Wishful Thinking (formerly Vitaminsea III). We will be fixing her up ourselves and sailing in the Mediterranean in 2023/2024.
