POP! After tons of swell and the puffs hitting us from the side, the dyneema just couldn’t take any more.
We also go hunting for our own dinner and Curtis and I hook up our third reef and inner forestay and take Sweet Ruca for a whirl in the crystal clear blue waters just outside of Carriacou.

Who are these crazy people?
We are Sailing Sweet Ruca! We are going around the world via Cape Horn and the Cape of Good hope in our performance cruising monohull, a J Boats J/46. We used to be sailboat racers, but have turned to the cruising life, along with our sailing dog, Roxy.
Come sailing around the world with us and learn how to sail as you go! Other sailing channels we like are Uma, Soulianis, Zatara, Nahoa, Delos, and Doodles (without the sexy Instagram models).
We are Kate and Curtis aboard our boat s/v Sweet Ruca. We are kind of like Sailing la Vagabonde, except we have a sailing dog named Roxy instead of a kid, and a monohull instead of a catamaran.
