Exploring the Wonders of Punta Perula in Sailing Sitka Episode 122

Welcome back to Season 2 of Sailing Sitka, where Jay and Kenna, two young Canadians, embark on a thrilling journey sailing around the world from Victoria, BC, Canada. Join them as they explore picturesque locations across Mexico in this captivating episode.

Embarking on a New Adventure

In the previous week’s video, viewers saw Jay and Kenna sail 100 nautical miles from Banderas Bay to Shamea. Upon arriving at Shamea Bay, they were greeted by mesmerizing surroundings but arrived as the sun set. Episode 122 brings a new adventure as they discover Punta Perula.

A Charming Beach Town

Nestled along the coast, Punta Perula is an idyllic sleepy beach town offering a plethora of activities and experiences. The extensive sandy beach provides plenty of space for sunbathing, water play, and exploration while also boasting numerous Palapa restaurants serving delectable local cuisine.

The Perfect Relaxed Escape

Though life in Punta Perula may move at a slower pace than what Jay and Kenna are accustomed to, they appreciate the serene ambiance, perfect for unwinding after their extensive voyage. Many locals come to this tranquil spot specifically to relax on vacation.

A Day of Exploring and Preparing

In preparation for their departure from Punta Perula, Jay and Kenna engage in various tasks. They perform a thorough cleaning of their dinghy and refill fresh water using a water maker, trading beer – a precious commodity on their boat – for this essential resource.

Discovering Local Cuisine

A staple in the Sailing Sitka series is showcasing Jay’s culinary creations, such as delicious tacos made with mouthwatering meat packages. Kenna may not appreciate the cilantro-infused pico de gallo, but this dish adds a scrumptious twist to their otherwise simple yet delightful meals.

Evenings aboard Sitka

One of Jay and Kenna’s favorite pastimes is savoring a bottle of red wine while basking in the sunset atop their boat, Sitka. This relaxing routine not only offers breathtaking views but also reflects on their incredible journey and all they’ve overcome together.

Sailing Sitka Episode 122 reveals the beauty of Punta Perula and captures a snapshot of life aboard Sitka.
