Getting delivered boat parts to the edge of civilization (FAIL) | Sailing Sitka Ep 167
While cruising through the San Blas Islands, Jay and Kenna unfortunately broke the propeller on their outboard motor. Given the remote nature of the islands, where services like Amazon Prime are unavailable, obtaining replacement parts can be challenging. However, there are local services that deliver goods from mainland Panama to the islands via pangas—small motorized boats. These pangas often transport supplies, including fresh produce and other necessities, to various anchorages in the San Blas Islands. To retrieve their delivery, Jay and Kenna had to sail from one island to another, awaiting the arrival of their package. Despite their efforts, the replacement part they received did not fit, adding to their frustration.
