Life has a special way of keeping you moving, evolving, shifting, and changing direction… and this is one of those moments.

Yes, it’s true, Sitka our 1976 Cheoy Lee Offshore 41' is for sale. And no, this isn’t clickbait or an April Fool’s joke. We wanted to come on here, share the news with you all, and explain why we’ve made this decision.

It’s a bittersweet choice, and not one we made lightly. After 10 years of ownership, Sitka has been nothing but good to us. She carried us over 8,000 nautical miles south and out onto the Atlantic Ocean, an adventure we will always cherish.

Around this time last year, we purchased land on the East Coast of Canada in Nova Scotia. We’ve decided to make the move there and begin the next chapter of our lives… finally creating a home base and, more importantly, a place to put all our belongings instead of living out of travel bags. We’re incredibly excited for this new adventure on land, starting completely from scratch and building our own off-grid setup in the countryside.

But with that comes the reality that we simply can’t balance both sea life and land life right now. Between finances, time, and everything it takes to build something from the ground up, Sitka would sit far too long and she’s meant for so much more than that. She belongs on the big blue, making miles, chasing horizons, and feeling the wind in her sails. Letting her go is hard, but it’s a decision we know is right for her.

Cruising will never fully leave us. Once you’ve had a taste of that life, you carry it with you forever. A piece of our souls will always belong to the sea. With time and some money saved, we fully intend to find our way back to it someday. For now, we’re focused on building a stable foundation for our future, something we’ve never had before and embracing this next chapter with deep gratitude for the last.

As we move through this transition, we’re thinking about documenting and sharing the journey of building our off-grid lifestyle in the woods. Let us know if that’s something you’d like to follow along with.

To all the people we met along the way, across so many places and paths, thank you. You are as much a part of this journey as the destinations themselves. And to the people who have watched, contributed in any way and supported this crazy adventure of ours over the last 4 years, no thank you is big enough.

We will never forget it, but here’s to turning the page.

Until next time,
Jay and Kenna
