We're Finally Feeling Confident with our New Catamaran!

On this episode of Sailing Ruby Rose, join us as we experience our first truly relaxing sail on our new catamaran! After a week of challenges and troubleshooting, today felt like the perfect opportunity to just enjoy being out on the water.

Sailing to Toman Island

As we set sail from Tonle Sap Lake towards our next destination, Toman Island off the coast of Malaysia, we felt more confident than ever before. We anticipated that the journey would be a smooth one thanks to the Ventus 5.3‘s spacious layout and powerful performance.

Navigating with Light Winds

With a very light breeze, we decided to make the most of our diesel engines for the first time on this leg of our journey. The weather forecast had been consistently showing low winds for several days, so we prepared ourselves for an easygoing sail.

Arriving at Toman Island

We successfully arrived at Toman Island and anchored in a peaceful cove, surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of Malaysia’s tropical paradise. As we sat back on deck with cold beverages in hand, we couldn’t help but reflect on how far we’ve come since first embarking on our journey.

Ice Machine Saga Continues

In between enjoying the island scenery and relaxing sales, we continued our attempts to fix the ice machine. This time with new determination, we blew out the solenoid until finally achieving success!

Discovering Island Life

We met the kind and hospitable people of Toman Island, who generously allowed us to dock our catamaran at their ferry berth. Our time spent here has been some of the most memorable moments so far on Sailing Ruby Rose. We wish we could have stayed longer but know that more adventures await us as we sail onward.

A Relaxed Life Aboard Our New Catamaran

Sailing aboard our new catamaran has allowed us to truly embrace the ease and comfort of living on the water. Today’s sale proved that after facing many challenges in the beginning, we are finally finding our stride and enjoying each moment of this amazing journey.
