Sailing Ruby Rose Discovers Cruising Paradise in Thailand

Sailing Ruby Rose, a YouTube channel featuring Nick and Rachel, takes their audience on an incredible adventure as they explore the stunning islands of Thailand. After encountering various challenges with their boat, including a faulty baton box, loose screws on the mast track, and water pump issues, the couple finally finds paradise in Kipy, Thailand.

Navigating the Trials and Tribulations

Upon arriving in Malaysia, Nick and Rachel face several obstacles with their boat. Firstly, they encounter an issue with the baton box on their mast track. Upon investigation, they realize that fouling of the baton car is causing it to fail when attempting to raise or lower the sail. Despite Mike from Sea Win offering guidance, replacing the damaged carbon fiber piece with a titanium ball joint proves difficult.

Meanwhile, other issues arise aboard Sailing Ruby Rose, such as loose screws on the mast track. Rachel and Nick resolve this by applying threadlock to each screw, ensuring they remain secure. Another issue presents itself with their freshwater system, resulting in sporadic water pressure. Upon inspection of the valve, a 9mm piece of gel coat was found jammed within it, obstructing proper flow.

Finding ‘Cruising Paradise’ in Kipy, Thailand

After addressing these issues and passing through the beautiful islands of the national park, Rachel and Nick find themselves in Kipy, Thailand. Upon arriving at what appears to be a challenging anchorage with strong currents and numerous coral bommies, they successfully drop anchor after several attempts.

Celebrating Their Arrival

Nick and Rachel celebrate their arrival in Kipy by enjoying a cold beer, taking in the stunning surroundings as the sun sets behind the lush green islands. They appreciate their peaceful evenings in paradise, contrasting with the busy day of sailing that preceded it.

With their freshwater issues resolved and safely anchored, the couple sets sail for Co Rock, an island within a national park. Upon arrival, they find themselves surrounded by breathtaking crystal clear waters and warm weather.

Connecting with Other Sailors

The anchorage in Kipy proves to be an unexpected meeting place for a community of sailors, all sharing the same love and passion. This sense of connection is further highlighted by their YouTube channel, Patreon supporters, and active WhatsApp group, which keeps members informed of their sailing experiences and trials.

Hey there! We're Nick and Terysa and we’ve become completely obsessed with the idea of sailing around the world and sharing our experiences and information through our sailing lifestyle videos with others.

We met travelling around India, and quickly agreed that rather than “settling down” and doing what most normal people do, we wanted to travel and have adventures! We moved onto our 38 foot monohull in 2014, sailed across the Atlantic twice, cruised the Caribbean, Bahamas and Europe, before buying a brand new 45 ft catamaran!

We hope you enjoy what we do. Please subscribe, like and share.
