Hey there! We're Nick and Terysa and we’ve become completely obsessed with the idea of sailing around the world and sharing our experiences and information through our sailing lifestyle videos with others.

We met travelling around India, and quickly agreed that rather than “settling down” and doing what most normal people do, we wanted to travel and have adventures! We moved onto our 38 foot monohull in 2014, sailed across the Atlantic twice, cruised the Caribbean, Bahamas and Europe, before buying a brand new 45 ft catamaran!

We hope you enjoy what we do. Please subscribe, like and share.

The crew at Sailing Ruby Rose is gearing up for an exciting yet potentially stressful journey – a sail from Indonesia to Singapore through the notorious Singapore Strait.

From Indonesia to Singapore: Navigating the Challenging Singapore Strait

After an unforgettable experience in Indonesia, our team on catamaran Sailing Ruby Rose is eager to venture further across Southeast Asian waters. Our next stop – the bustling metropolis of Singapore.

The Perilous Singapore Strait

Sailing through the Singapore Strait is a test of navigation skills, with congested traffic, strong currents, and unpredictable weather conditions. The channel is less than 1 nautical mile wide in places, with ferries, cargo ships, and yachts all competing for space. But don’t worry; we’ve got it covered.

Preparing for the Challenge

Our crew is prepared for any eventuality during our Singapore Strait journey. We’ve studied tide tables, wind forecasts, and navigational aids extensively to ensure a safe passage.

Adopting Best Practices

To navigate the strait safely, we’ve implemented best practices such as maintaining strict radio communication protocols, keeping a vigilant lookout for other vessels at all times, and ensuring our crew is fully informed about potential hazards in the area.

The Journey Begins

With preparations complete, we’re ready to set sail for Singapore. We’ll provide updates on our progress and share tips that have helped us successfully navigate the treacherous waters of the Singapore Strait.

Awaiting Adventures Ahead

Join Sailing Ruby Rose for an unforgettable journey through Southeast Asia’s maritime hotspots. Stay tuned as we share more exciting updates and sailing experiences from this incredible voyage.

A Note on Navigating the Singapore Strait

When embarking on a trip through the Singapore Strait, it’s essential to research and plan ahead thoroughly. Consider consulting local sailing forums or seeking advice from experienced sailors familiar with the area for extra peace of mind.

To avoid unexpected surprises while in transit, make sure you have up-to-date charts, GPS coordinates, and weather reports on hand to ensure a smooth sailing experience. If you’re venturing out into the open seas for the first time, don’t hesitate to reach out to fellow sailors or local authorities for guidance.

Sailing through the Singapore Strait might be daunting at first, but with proper preparation and adherence to safety guidelines, you can have an unforgettable journey across these treacherous yet stunning waters. Keep an eye on Sailing Ruby Rose for more exciting updates as we continue our adventures around Southeast Asia.
