Episode 197 – Terrifying Storm and Major Dragging Accident at Anchor!

Recently, while anchored out in a stormy evening, the Pickle Family had their most harrowing experience on the water yet. Amidst intense rain and powerful winds, another boat managed to drag its anchor and slammed into them. The Storm The Pickle family had weathered many storms on their journey but this one seemed particularly ferocious. 60 knot winds were blowing sheets of rain horizontally, making it almost impossible to see and impossible to stand up. The Accident In the middle of the chaos, another boat managed to drag its anchor. As the other boat came towards them sideways due to the strong winds and currents, it ended up smashing into their vessel, causing considerable damage. The Aftermath Afterwards, the Pickle Family was understandably shaken. They checked over their boat for structural integrity issues and damage, finding cracks on the front, side rails bent in, and a severely smashed transom. Miraculously though, their boat came through with just superficial damages. The Involved Boats The other boat involved did manage to anchor itself further away after the accident. While its captain and crew were unharmed, they were certainly shaken by the incident as well. Consequences for Both Vessels While both boats are operable, considerable repair work needs to be done on Pickle. They have also had enough with people’s negligence in not anchoring properly and will push the other boat’s insurance to cover costs. An Ongoing Saga The aftermath of the stormy night’s events continues as Pickle Family faces dealing with the insurance, possible legal actions and repair costs. We will keep you posted on their progress. Stay Tuned!
