Sailing Greece: Sparta, Mystras & the Stunning Castle of Koroni 🇬🇷
Ep. 209 ~ In this episode of Sailing Okaliptus, we take a break from chasing weather windows and explore some of the most fascinating historical sites in the Peloponnese, Greece.
After arriving in Kalamata Marina aboard our catamaran, we rent a car and head inland to discover the incredible Byzantine city of Mystras, the legendary ruins of Ancient Sparta, and the stunning Venetian castle town of Koroni.
From medieval fortresses and ancient civilizations to breathtaking views and charming seaside streets, this corner of Greece quickly became one of our favorite areas of the Peloponnese.
Join us as we trade sails for sightseeing, wander through centuries of Greek history, and enjoy a few much-needed days off the boat before continuing our sailing adventure around the final finger of the Peloponnese and back into the Ionian Sea.
