Peloponnese Sailing | Monemvasia, Wildfire Planes & Tight Harbor Maneuvers 🇬🇷
Ep. 207 ~ After finally escaping Milos, we change sail plans and return to mainland Greece and sail to the Peloponnese. We are thoroughly entertained by a few dolphins and arrive to one of the most incredible places we’ve visited in Greece... the medieval fortress town of Monemvasia.
This sail had everything: an active military exercise zone, 28 straight minutes of dolphins riding our bows, tight harbor maneuvering in strong winds and even wildfire planes dropping water just behind the harbor.
Once safely tied up aboard Oka, we spent a day exploring the ancient stone alleyways, sea walls, hidden corners, and breathtaking views of Monemvasia while enjoying a rare stretch of calm weather after weeks of strong Meltemi winds in the Aegean Sea.
We also witnessed some VERY interesting docking and anchoring attempts as boats tried squeezing into and out of the tiny harbor during 30-knot gusts.
