After months away from the boat, I returned alone to Nandji II, to prepare her for the Atlantic Ocean crossing. Instead, I was met with our worst nightmare. Whilst we were away, the engine had back-filled with water and seized. Pumping out the oil, the true scale of the damage became clear, this engine was far worse off than I first thought.
But before it could even be touched, another obstacle, the generator, stood in the way.
Wth the generator now living in the cockpit, I can begin pulling the engine and preparing for what’s next
