After a long descent of western Europe, we are now well placed to push off in to the Atlantic Ocean and head for the first stepping stone on this route. There is a good forecast of trade-winds and we get to properly test our downwind setup, whilst watching the miles fly by down the coast of Africa. This is a very exciting journey for us, our biggest passage yet and I have intentionally left out music during footage of sailing where normally it is tempting to place, to try and recreate the atmosphere of being offshore.
