Isabella has two reverse cycle units that provide us with air conditioning in the summer and heat in the winter. Water flows through from the outside into a strainer which is pumped into the unit and then discharged back to the environment. Summer heat has arrived bringing hot weather and warm seas. It means it’s growing season and lots of stuff collects in the reverse cycle units’ strainers causing the water flow to the unit to decrease. Cleaning the strainer of our front air conditioner is a bit of a hassle since it is located under the bed in the main cabin. Ahhh, another DIY project...let's make it easier to clean the strainer by moving from under the cabin bed.
We opened up an access door so the Groco strainer could be reached for cleaning without moving the bedding, cushions, and support boards. Steve drilled a pilot hole first so that the jigsaw could be used to cut through the wainscoting wall under the bed.
