She's Leaving Me! Ep67

This time on Sailing Intermission Karen leaves for a trip to New Orleans with a friend. We are frustrated that we still don’t have our gooseneck repaired, but it’s getting close. Glad that we are making progress in getting the second AC installed. Also, met some great neighbors.

We’re installing our second air conditioner in the aft sail locker. This means building a shelf, figuring out the below waterline pump placement, running ductwork, and hooking up to power. Fortunately we have a 10 gauge wire run from a dedicated Paneltronics breaker all the way back. We’re using a 500 gph pump for a 12,000 BTU Webasto reverse cycle AC because it needs to push water through a 19 foot hose to reach the unit. We figure by the time the water gets to the Webasto it will have at least 300 gph of flow.

Our mizzen gooseneck is coming along and the machinist is working on a 316 stainless part needed to complete the project. Apparently he grew up on a sailboat and is perhaps giving us priority.
