Planking and Jib/Geona Fix Ep 15

This week we exercised and repaired our Jib. The UV cover stitching had come lose. We pulled it down and managed to fit it into the salon. This is when we whipped out our trusty Singer 237 sewing machine with UV coated V69 polyester thread. Although the Singer is heavy duty, we still broke a needle and had to adjust the timing. In the end it prevailed and got the job done. The Singer, built in the mid 60’s, has all metal parts and might be comparable to the Sailrite machines at a much more economical cost. Ours came from eBay for only $100.00 and even has a walking foot attachment.
When we finished the sun was setting and the wind had died down, so unable to take the boat out and check out our repair we settled for some celebratory dancing. Next week…we check out the Jib.
