Boat life on Isabella can give us feelings of loneliness, isolation and it can also be exciting, fun and at times relaxing. Join us as we share our journey with you working on DIY projects, creating videos that sometimes get age restricted, growing herbs and playing at the beach.
Karen is re-sanding the boat hook preparing it for coats of outdoor grade polyurethane. Meanwhile, Steve’s mind is racing with unknown thoughts as he watches her sanding technique.
Reflecting on boat life we realize the boating community is extremely supportive and yet, sometimes there is a feeling of isolation. It really helps lift our spirits when family and friends come to visit and we reconnect with boat friends.
Karen did some jump roping on the dock and at the beach.

Sailing Intermission
Featuring the sailboat Isabella, a Super Mikado 56 made by the French shipyard CNSO. Sailing, partying, dancing, cooking, and sometimes pushing the limits. This sailboat had been neglected for some time when she was purchased. Lots of cleaning, sanding, refinishing, new lines, refrigerator, pumps, water heater parts, whole boat water filters, bow thruster, lighting, fuel filters, instruments, air conditioning, etc.... Some of the fun with refitting a sailboat is to be able to do economical but quality improvements. Elbow grease saves a lot of money, watching for sales, knowing when substitutions can be made that will last, and of course enjoying the final product. We sail, fish (haha), dance, fly the drone, sometimes wear bikinis, DIY, ride the motorcycle, listen to great music, and enjoy life. Older sailors don't have a clew when to quit; they just keep lubing their winches.
