Blowing and Not Going
This time on Sailing Intermission…we’re stuck at dock. The plan was to leave for another marina where we would have easy access to motoring and hopefully finally sailing. After discovering a snafu on our documentation the move was abandoned.
We’ve taken this time to do multiple DIY projects:
· Documentation Dilemma Fix – hopefully we’ll be able to sail…we are a sailing channel!
· New Battery Charger
· Electroscan cleaning of battery connection: Coast Guard Approved Type 1 MSD (Marine Sanitation Device)
· Anchor Check
· Water Tender
· Life Vest/Jacket Blow Check- we use the terms interchangeable knowing jackets turn the wearer face up in the water even if unconscious…hopefully 😊
· Life Raft

Sailing Intermission
Featuring the sailboat Isabella, a Super Mikado 56 made by the French shipyard CNSO. Sailing, partying, dancing, cooking, and sometimes pushing the limits. This sailboat had been neglected for some time when she was purchased. Lots of cleaning, sanding, refinishing, new lines, refrigerator, pumps, water heater parts, whole boat water filters, bow thruster, lighting, fuel filters, instruments, air conditioning, etc.... Some of the fun with refitting a sailboat is to be able to do economical but quality improvements. Elbow grease saves a lot of money, watching for sales, knowing when substitutions can be made that will last, and of course enjoying the final product. We sail, fish (haha), dance, fly the drone, sometimes wear bikinis, DIY, ride the motorcycle, listen to great music, and enjoy life. Older sailors don't have a clew when to quit; they just keep lubing their winches.
