Welcome back Sailors, Bald Kitty & Dripping Wet here! We’re diving deep into the latest episode of our marine escapades, full of adventure, and boaty delights.
Ever find a stubborn barnacle or two clinging to your dinghy after a swim or sail? We sure have! When we were pulling our trusty dinghy back on board, it was apparent that our recent adventures had taken their toll. But fear not, for we’ve got some tips and tricks up our sleeves.
After discovering a few sharp barnacles hiding beneath, Karen skillfully managed the boat’s motor as Steve pulled it up and secured it to its new, fortified tower. This setup is a game-changer in terms of usability and efficiency when switching between the sailboat and the outboard.
The anticipation was building as we set off towards the boat races with Isabella by our side. As much as we’d have loved to hop on Hayabusa for an exciting motorcycle ride, we opted for a cooler journey.
The boat races were nothing short of exhilarating. The sleek vessels cutting through the water with finesse and elegance, reminding Steve of a cat leaping gracefully with feline poise. The similarity was uncanny, even prompting comparisons to ‘Bald Py,’ a beloved member of our sea-faring crew.
Necessity may have dictated our stopover in Miami for car trouble and Hayabusa delivery, but that didn’t mean we let the fun moment pass us by. Visiting family in San Diego and Dallas, a taste of Tex-Mex cuisine including decadent biscuits and fried okra with pickled jalapeños, and shopping for new motorcycle boots all made it an unforgettable detour.
We’ve since arrived back in the keys with Hayabusa now making its grand entrance into our marine fleet. But the real question remains, what’s next for Bald Kitty & Dripping Wet? Stay tuned to find out!
Dive into our previous episodes if you haven’t already. We promise adventures, misadventures, and everything in between as we continue this sea-faring journey with no regrets and all the laughter.

Upside down jellyfish, boat races, dinghy ride, new bikini, Hayabusa motorcycle (aka the Busa). Our AC keeps getting clogged with jellyfish. Luckily the jellyfish numbers seem to be going down as the temperatures rise.
We were able to catch the Race World Offshore 7-mile Offshore Grand Prix boat races, so cool. Karen got a new bikini, we went for a dinghy ride and she went for a swim to try it out. The barnacles on the dinghy bottom cut Karen's thigh. She kept antibiotic ointment on it for a few days. Good as new now.
Travel plans took us to San Diego and Dallas to visit family and bring back Steve's Hayabusa motorcycle. Thank you to everyone who weighed in on whether we should sell or keep the Busa. He couldn't stop smiling after driving the bike off of the trailer.
Karen flexed her muscles bringing up the dinghy. She didn't need a winch thanks to the 7:1 pulley purchase.
