Amazing Race Martinique: Cross Country Challenge #boatlife

The dynamic duo from Sailing Honu Time recently embarked on an exciting challenge known as The Amazing Race Martinique: Cross Country Challenge. The video provides an intriguing glimpse into their exhilarating journey that involves navigating public transportation systems, traversing challenging terrains and overcoming language barriers. The episode is a captivating portrayal of the sailors’ adventurous spirit and resilience.

The Challenge Begins

The episode opens with the couple excitedly accepting their mission, which is to retrieve a friend’s travel book from another group of friends residing on Martinique. The challenge requires them to visit various locations across the island and catch different modes of transportation, all in one day. To make things more interesting, they have to navigate an unfamiliar location where they don’t speak the local language fluently.

Navigating Public Transportation

Initially, they locate a local bus that takes them on a thrilling journey through mountainous terrains to the northwest coast of Martinique. From there, they need to catch a fast ferry across the bay to Fort-de-France. Due to unforeseen delays in their schedules and transfer points, they face some unexpected twists along the way.

The Amazing Race Experience

The duo demonstrates incredible teamwork as they adapt to each challenge that comes their way. They even managed to make friends with two locals who helped them navigate through the confusing bus schedules and transfers. As they cross locations off their list, they learn more about Martinique’s culture and geography.

Delivering The Book

Their persistence finally pays off as they successfully deliver the book to their friends in Fort-de-France. After this exhilarating task, they spend some time exploring and shopping at a sports store before heading back.

A Tiring But Rewarding Day

The adventure isn’t over yet for them. They must now find their way back to their boat, which involves another round of bus transfers. With fatigue setting in, they manage to catch a late bus home, marking the end of an intense day.

An Adventure Worth Taking

The Cross Country Challenge of The Amazing Race Martinique provides a thrilling glimpse into the lives of Sailing Honu Time. It’s an entertaining and informative way to experience what it takes to participate in such an adventure. Whether you’re interested in travel, culture, or just looking for a good story, this episode has something for everyone.

Your mission should you choose to accept it…

We must retrieve the package, travel across the country on many modes of transportation, juggle several time tables and schedules and find our way back before dark.

Back story:
One of the boats we have been cruising with has a great tradition. Over the past 3 years they have created this amazing a travel book. They ask the cruisers they have traveled with along their journey sign this book and share a little story about how they met or some memorable experience they have had along the way. On rare occasions like this one the book didn’t make it back to them before they moved.

So, we are here today.
