Whales, Dolphins and Gales off New Zealand Ep. 111
This week we continue our sail down the east coast of the North Island and we encounter whales, dolphins and yet another of the endless New Zealand gales we have experienced this season. As we have become accustomed to doing, we keep an especially close eye on the weather as this year is turning into one of New Zealand’s stormiest. Or so we are told by the locals. When the winds are blowing, we are always ready to tuck into safe anchorages and prepare to ride out a blow. Luckily, this week we have our first whale sighting since crossing the Pacific and we are also entertained by a pod of dolphins.
