Today is the most nerve-wracking day for us as we watch our home lifted aboard a yacht transport ship by a huge crane. Our home, Gargoyle, a Beneteau Oceanis 50, is off on a 14,000 nautical mile journey from Auckland New Zealand to Cork Ireland aboard Sevenstar Yacht Transport Happy Dynamic. This week we follow the loading step by step as divers set the slings, a crew manages the slings from our deck and the experienced crane operator lifts her softly into the air. In a two-hour process, Gargoyle goes from floating gently at sea to being strapped and welded to the deck of the five hundred foot plus transport ship. Come along on this nerve-wracking journey.
