It has been an incredibly busy week as we have run down our extensive checklist to make certain Gargoyle was 100% ready for the 8-day passage to the Galapagos Islands. We have crawled through the lockers and inspected steering cables and exercised thru hulls. Hauled Carla up the mast to inspect the mast, rigging and halyards for wear. Finalized all forms of “insurance” including our boat insurance for the next12 months, restock and double-check the ditch bag as well as the life raft. We have even had a call with Trevor, who’ll be doing our weather routing for us as a backup to onboard forecasting. The countdown clock has ticked down to the final 72 hours when suddenly an old nemesis rears its ugly head. T-minus 72 hours and we are holding…..Wilson where are you? Wilson!!!!!!! We need Tom Hanks!!
