Sailing coastal exploration rarely goes exactly to plan. We get knocked back by some surprising late summer storms and then by some warships performing a live fire exercise blocking the route around Southern Italy.
This time last year we were battling storms on our West- East Atlantic crossing but coastal sailing can be just as challenging and it takes all our energy to push on to get around Italy and give ourselves a chance of crossing the Adriatic in time to make our flight from Montenegro to Annapolis for the boat show.
(SPOILER ALERT, we did make it and this video is going out on the first day of the show, so if you are attending then do come and say hello at the YT tent.
