Crew of the Wes Win…. you guys are awesome!

Places we visited in this Episode

Miami Beach Marina – Fantastic Location and very friendly staff. The docks themselves are not designed for sailboats, made of concrete with no bumpers and there are some really big wakes that roll through the Marina.

Brown’s Marina – Bimini Bahamas. Clean and in excellent condition. Super helpful staff and good wifi. Ernest Hemmingway wrote about this marina in his book Islands in the Stream.

End of the World Saloon – not open but we meet the owner and went for a tour. Would definitely recommend checking it out when it reopens after its repairs are complete.

Big Game Club – only had one meal here but it was good although pricey.

After finishing the shakedown cruise on my new yacht, we pulled back into the marina thinking the hard part was behind us. But shortly after, I started having serious GI problems and ended up making an emergency trip to the ER in Thailand. What followed w...

It’s the final day of the shakedown cruise on my new yacht, and we sail back toward Ocean Marina after a few incredible days out on the water. The boat has been amazing, the dogs have loved it, and this was supposed to be the simple final leg back to the...

This Is Why I Bought This Yacht

Day three of our shakedown cruise on my new yacht started anchored off Koh Larn, but we decided to sail about 15 miles west to the uninhabited island of Koh Phai. This turned out to be exactly the kind of place I dreamed about when buying this boat — wh...

My New Yacht Has An Electric Gremlin

Our second day cruising around the Thai islands on my new sailing catamaran started at anchor on the north end of Koh Larn. By 8 a.m., the peaceful anchorage was already filling up with tour boats and jet skis, and it was getting pretty uncomfortable. But...

She is finally mine!: Maverick’s first sail

After years of waiting, delays, setbacks, and one very long journey to get here, my new yacht is finally mine! I signed the paperwork the day before, and now it is time to take her out for our first real sail and shakedown cruise. I was definitely a littl...
