Investigating a Sunken Tugboat and Barge

In this episode, we investigate a barge that crashed on the reef and the tugboat that sank next to it. After our adventure, we spend another day scuba diving before discussing how the sail of my boat fell through.

Exploring with Bob’s Highfield Dinghy

We headed over to our friend Bob’s 97t Horizon to load into his Highfield dinghy for the adventure. His dog, Marina, accompanied us on this exciting journey.

The Stranded Barge and Sunken Tugboat

We arrived at the site where a tugboat sunk and a barge was stranded. We managed to fly a drone overhead to capture amazing shots of the wreckage, as it seemed like an intense experience for the tugboat crew.

Maintaining Marine Ecosystems

There was much debate about whether allowing the barge to stay would be beneficial or detrimental to marine life and habitats. The tugboat’s name, Heroic One, added another intriguing layer to this mysterious scene.

Sailing Towards New Adventures

Our time at Guana continues as we prepare for our trip to Europe with other sailing enthusiasts. We’ll leave behind our marine adventures, but first, we need to tackle the maintenance issues of my C-340 sailboat.

Sailboat Maintenance Issues

The boat was originally under contract for 80,000. During a survey, a couple of maintenance issues came to light, causing the buyer to terminate their option to buy. A raw water leak on the port engine and debris in the starboard fuel tank require attention. The depth transducer also needs replacement.

Price Reduction

I’ve decided to put the boat back up for sale at a reduced price of 60,000 dollars. These issues need to be fixed in order to ensure the boat is in good working condition.

Sailor Alert

If you’re looking for a reliable sailboat for summer use, this might just be it. Make sure to address the maintenance issues for the best results. Email Bobby at sailingdoodles.com with any inquiries or if you’re interested in purchasing.

She Took My Boat to Malaysia Without Me!

This was not the plan. A new crew member arrived in Thailand, and normally that would mean we’re getting ready to go sailing on the new yacht. But because of my recent illness and more hospital visits, I had to stay behind in Pattaya. So instead of me ...

This Is Why I Bought This Yacht

Day three of our shakedown cruise on my new yacht started anchored off Koh Larn, but we decided to sail about 15 miles west to the uninhabited island of Koh Phai. This turned out to be exactly the kind of place I dreamed about when buying this boat — wh...

My New Yacht Has An Electric Gremlin

Our second day cruising around the Thai islands on my new sailing catamaran started at anchor on the north end of Koh Larn. By 8 a.m., the peaceful anchorage was already filling up with tour boats and jet skis, and it was getting pretty uncomfortable. But...
