Taking a Break from Boat life
We’re back on the boat after taking a week's break in the UK visiting family and friends, and there have been a few important updates to share from life aboard our sailing catamaran in Greece. I’ve brought more solar panels onboard, ready to be fitted later this week, as part of an upgrade to improve our boat power management, battery charging, and off-grid cruising setup under the hot Greek sun.
While we were away, Dimitri the electrician also carried out some work in the engine bay, including fitting a second MPPT solar controller and making changes to the Orion DC to DC charger setup to help improve performance and reduce overheating issues. These marine electrical upgrades are all part of improving the boat’s energy system for liveaboard sailing and cruising.
Sharon also explains what happened after her recent fall, how her arm was treated in Greece and then checked again in the UK, and how she is getting on now as we adjust to life onboard. Even with the setback, we’ve been busy provisioning the boat, washing her down, and getting everything ready for the next sail.

Midlife sailing adventure | Retired couple living on a catamaran | Full-time liveaboard sailing We’re John & Sha, a retired couple in our mid-50s preparing to move aboard our catamaran this April.
