Four years ago we moved from England to California not knowing a thing about sailing. In September 2019 we sailed our 36 foot boat under the Golden Gate Bridge and turned left, leaving the San Francisco Bay behind but taking our cosy home with us. For us, this is the journey of a lifetime. We intend to visit some of the world's most beautiful and unspoiled cruising grounds. We'd like to share our trials and tribulations with you here, where we hope to bring you an authentic snapshot of our new life afloat!

We really loved our time exploring the picturesque bay of Ensenada de Matanchen, with it’s long palapa-lined golden beaches and the world’s longest surf break!
Soon though, it was time to tie up in the nearby town of San Blas, Nayarit for a rare week of marina time. The day finally arrived and all that stood between us and the First Mate’s dreams of sipping margaritas by the pool while the washing machines gently hummed their way through his chores… was a huge great river and a sand bar to cross! Oh, and our depth sounder was up to its old tricks again… this should be interesting!
