Four years ago we moved from England to California not knowing a thing about sailing. In September 2019 we sailed our 36 foot boat under the Golden Gate Bridge and turned left, leaving the San Francisco Bay behind but taking our cosy home with us. For us, this is the journey of a lifetime. We intend to visit some of the world's most beautiful and unspoiled cruising grounds. We'd like to share our trials and tribulations with you here, where we hope to bring you an authentic snapshot of our new life afloat!

We had a troubled sail into ‘Caleta Paraíso’ (Paradise Cove), almost getting snagged into two fishing nets and meeting their owners on the way down. Despite the troubles though, Paradise Cove really lived up to its name, treating us to some of the most scenic tropical views we have seen on the journey so far.
For a few reasons, including an approaching tropical storm, our stay in paradise was short-lived. We had to move on quickly, making a bee line for the shelter of a large lagoon in Barra de Navidad, 40 miles to the south.
