Four years ago we moved from England to California not knowing a thing about sailing. In September 2019 we sailed our 36 foot boat under the Golden Gate Bridge and turned left, leaving the San Francisco Bay behind but taking our cosy home with us. For us, this is the journey of a lifetime. We intend to visit some of the world's most beautiful and unspoiled cruising grounds. We'd like to share our trials and tribulations with you here, where we hope to bring you an authentic snapshot of our new life afloat!

This episode finds us underway to Bocas del Toro, Panama, with El Capitan hoisting the spinnaker in a bold or stupid move, right ahead of an oncoming squall! The overnight sail was spent dodging a handful more large, powerful squalls on the horizon, one of which finally caught up with us… Luckily we made it safely to our stopover, Isla Escudo de Veraguas and caught an opening in the clouds to soak in some sunshine, as well as our tropical Caribbean surroundings!
