Sailing Greece's Most Underrated Coastline on a Lagoon 42

We leave Pylos and begin making our way along the Messinian coast of Greece, with short sails, quiet anchorages, old stone walls, and a few lessons learned along the way.

From Methoni Castle to Koroni Fortress, this stretch becomes one of those reminders that learning does not always need a classroom. Some days it looks like walking through history, asking questions, watching the weather, and finding the next safe place to stop for the night.

After a night in Grevtaki Bay and another in Koroni, we sail on to Kalamata and return to marina life for a little while.

This is family life aboard Bluefish — sailing slowly, learning as we go, and finding history all along the coast.

We Sailed All Day… And Barely Went Anywhere

We set off aboard Bluefish, our Lagoon 42, for what should have been a simple sailing day through the Ionian. With light wind, we raise the main at anchor and slowly make our way towards Meganisi while Noa fishes, plays guitar and we make water underway. But in high season the anchorages are packed....

We Tried to Go Sailing… Then the Forecast Changed

We set off planning to sail, but a thunderstorm forecast makes us stay put. When we finally get moving, the anchorages are packed, so we end the day pump foiling instead. I’m still learning — and it’s honestly one of the hardest things I’ve ever tried. #SailingGreece #BoatLife #PumpFoil #Lagoon42
