We finally leave Sicily and sail east toward Greece.
After our winter months, waiting, fixing, preparing, and slowly getting Bluefish ready again, it is time to cross the Ionian Sea. This passage takes us from Sicily toward Kefalonia — 41 hours offshore, sailing through changing light, weather, night watches, tired moments, and that strange feeling of leaving one season behind.

It is not a dramatic ocean crossing.
It is just real boat life.

A family, a Lagoon 42, a long stretch of water, and Greece waiting somewhere ahead.

In this episode:

* We leave Sicily after winter preparation
* Sail offshore toward Greece
* Settle into watches and passage life
* Cross through changing weather and light
* Arrive in Kefalonia after 41 hours at sea

Thanks for following along with Sailing Bluefish.

We saw the world’s largest sailing catamaran! #yachting #sailing

A birthday aboard Bluefish starts with pancakes and pizza — then the anchorage turns rough and the next day brings completely different conditions. We sail north towards Vasiliki, put the Code Zero out, take it back in, reef as the wind builds towards 30 knots, see dolphins and pass Hemisphere — the...

30 Knots, Two Reefs, Then No Wind | Sailing Greece

Lucas and the Sailing Bluefish crew navigate their Lagoon 42 catamaran through sudden 30-knot Aegean squalls, tucking two reefs before drifting into a dead-calm Greek island wind shadow.

Every Anchorage Had a Catch:

Our anchor drags, the next bay has a rocky bottom, and the anchorage after that rolls all night. Sometimes finding the right place to stop takes a few tries.

Another Day Living on the Water

This week is much more about the everyday rhythm of living on Bluefish. We move along the coast of Kefalonia, find a sandy anchorage, get the pump foil out, explore the cliffs by dinghy, head ashore for ice cream, practise some wing foiling and then raise the sails again for a short afternoon sail. ...
